UNIQUE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER TO ALL THE RESIDENTS IN THE COUNTRY
1. Department of Posts and UIDAI wish to collaborate to provide state of art bio-metric and ID authentication services to the residents.
2. Providing of enrolment and updation facility to the residents of India in identified post offices across the country subject to economic & operational viability.
5. Sharing demographic and biometric data collected during enrolment for Aadhaar on mutually agreed terms & conditions;
6. Utilizing Media Post and Direct Mail services of Department of Posts by the UIDAI to targeted group of residents across the country to promote Aadhar on mutually agreed terms & conditions.
7. In a recognition of the fact that Aadhaar enablement may call for running Proof of Concept and Pilot projects both side agree to do so where deemed necessary and subject to mutual convenience. Such exercises as may be undertaken in pursuit of this understanding will endeavour to produce Detailed Project Reports which can be effectively used to scale up the projects on successful completion.
The mandate of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is to provide a Unique Identification Number to each and every resident of the country. This involves:-
a) Capture of demographic and bio-metric data of each and every resident.
b) Generating a Unique Identification Number for each resident of the country.
c) Printing a communication carrying the Unique Identification Number addressed to each resident.
d) Delivery of this communication to the resident.
e) Updation of resident's data on a periodic basis.
b) Transmission of the UID communications printed at Department of Posts' 'Print to Post' facility to the addressee by the fastest means.
c) Delivery of the UID communication to the addressee through the vast network of post offices across the country.

DA RATE FROM JAN 2011
The central Government employees are expecting a Good Dearness Allowance rise from 1st January 2011. It is expected that atleast 6% increase in DA will be there from Jan 2011.
Present DA Rate 45%.
Expected increase: 6%.
DA rate from Jan 2011: 51%.
The calculation is based on the AICPIN published by labour Bureau, Government of India. For the month November 2010 the AICPIN stands at 182. For December, the results will come only at the end of month of January 2011. If AICPIN reaches at 185 in December Government employees would likely to get 6% DA.
Once the DA rate touches 50%, the allowances like conveyance allowance, children education allowance etc will be increased 25% more. The final picture will come in the end of January 2011 only.

Railways to accept bank credit card as proof of identity for travelling on e-tickets
In an yet another passenger friendly move, the Ministry of Railways has decided to accept credit cards issued by banks with laminated photograph as proof of identity for traveling on e-tickets. The new provision has come into effect from 6th August, 2010.
The bank credit card is in addition to the existing seven proofs of identity for undertaking journey on e-tickets namely;
a) Voter Identity Card,
b) Passport,
c) PAN Card,
d) Driving License,
e) Photo Identity Card issued by Central/State Government.
f) Student Identity Card with photograph issued by recognised School/College for their students and
g) Nationalised Bank Passbook with photograph.
There will be no concession including student concession admissible to the persons booking e-tickets except concession for senior citizens.
Ministry of Railways has asked all Zonal Railways to issue necessary instruction to all concerned particularly ticket checking staff so as to educate them about this modified provision and to avoid inconvenience to the passengers.
